Privacy Policy

The Short Version
HatchDay collects no data whatsoever. Everything you enter into the app stays on your device. HatchDay never sends it anywhere. The only time anything reaches us is when you email support yourself.
1. Data Collection
HatchDay does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. This includes:
- Names and birthdays you enter
- Usage data or analytics
- Crash reports or telemetry
- Device identifiers
- Any form of aggregated or anonymized data
2. Local Processing
All processing occurs entirely on your device. HatchDay does not communicate with any external server. There is no account system, no sign-in, and no sync service.
3. Contacts
If you allow Contacts access, HatchDay reads the name, birthday and phone numbers of your contacts to build your birthday list. Nothing else is read.
HatchDay also writes to Contacts, but only the birthday field, and only when you add, edit or remove a birthday in Manage Contact Birthdays. Contact data is never uploaded, shared or sent anywhere.
You can turn off Contacts access at any time in iOS Settings → Apps → HatchDay → Contacts. HatchDay works without it.
4. Data Storage
Any information you enter is stored locally on your device using the operating system’s standard storage mechanisms. You have full control over this data and can delete it at any time by removing the app.
Birthdays you save to a contact through HatchDay become part of that contact in your iOS Contacts. They stay there after HatchDay is deleted and can be removed from the Contacts app.
5. Third-Party Services
HatchDay does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data processing services.
Notification actions like Call, WhatsApp or Messages open that app with the phone number and your greeting filled in. HatchDay doesn’t send anything itself; what happens next is up to you and that app’s own privacy policy.
6. Support Requests
When you contact support from the Help screen, the email is sent by you through your own Mail app. You can choose to attach diagnostic logs. They hold technical data only (events, errors, app version), never names or phone numbers. Logs on your device are deleted automatically after 30 days. Logs we receive by email are deleted once your issue is resolved.
7. Children’s Privacy
Because HatchDay collects no data at all, there are no special concerns regarding children’s privacy. The app is safe for users of all ages.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
